The IBTL Company provides consulting services, documentation support, and international web compliance services, including support for international digital transaction frameworks and cross-border compliance for online businesses.

The IBTL Office provides services authorized under the Administrative Procedures Legal Specialist Act of Japan. In particular, it focuses on preventive legal services before disputes arise, including:

  • Legal consultation on rights and obligations, as well as factual matters, in connection with applications and procedures before public authorities (including immigration and other administrative procedures);
  • Preparation of applications and other documents to be submitted to public authorities;
  • Representation in visa applications, licensing procedures, and other administrative procedures; and
  • Communications, submissions, and related dealings with administrative authorities on behalf of clients.

The materials on this website are provided for general informational purposes only and do not constitute legal, tax, or other professional advice tailored to any particular case.

2. Nature of Website Information and No Client Relationship

Use of this website does not create an attorney–client, administrative specialist–client, or contractual relationshipwith IBTL.

Services are provided only after IBTL issues a written Engagement Letter (委任契約書) and the client formally agrees to its terms. No reliance should be placed on any information on this website without obtaining tailored advice based on the specific circumstances of each matter.

Visitors to this website should seek independent legal, tax, or other professional advice from qualified professionals in the relevant jurisdiction before acting or refraining from acting based on any content found here.

3. Location-Specific Laws and International Scope

IBTL’s professional services are provided under Japanese law.

Where international standards (for example, EU, US, UK, Australia, Canada and other jurisdictions) are referenced in our compliance advisory work, such information is provided solely for comparative or general compliance purposes and does not constitute legal advice in those jurisdictions.

Clients and website users operating outside Japan remain responsible for confirming local legal requirements with qualified counsel in each relevant jurisdiction. IBTL does not provide legal representation or opinions under foreign bar admissions.

4. Ethics and Professional Standards

IBTL maintains high ethical standards consistent with Japanese administrative practice and global compliance expectations. We act with integrity, professionalism, and fairness in all services.

In accordance with Japanese industry guidelines and corporate governance best practices, IBTL refuses all transactions with organized crime groups, anti-social forces, or individuals connected with such entities. Any potential relationship will be terminated immediately if such affiliations are identified.

IBTL also adheres to internal policies on conflicts of interest, confidentiality, and the proper handling of sensitive information, in line with the Administrative Procedures Legal Specialist Act and relevant professional guidelines.

5. Anti-Corruption Statement

IBTL prohibits bribery or corrupt practices in all jurisdictions in which clients operate. We observe the principles of major international anti-corruption regimes, including:

  • U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA)
  • UK Bribery Act 2010
  • OECD Anti-Bribery Convention
  • Relevant Japanese criminal and administrative laws

We expect clients, partners, and suppliers to adhere to similar standards and to maintain effective internal controls, compliance programs, and reporting channels concerning bribery and corruption.

6. Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and KYC Cooperation

Although IBTL is not a financial institution, certain services—such as receiving international payments, company formation support, or visa documentation—may require identity verification (know-your-customer / KYC) under Japanese guidelines and international AML best practices.

Clients may be asked to provide identification documents, corporate registration documents, information on beneficial owners, and transaction details as part of these procedures. IBTL may decline or suspend services if sufficient information is not provided or if suspicious activity is reasonably suspected.

IBTL supports internationally recognized human rights principles, including the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

We do not engage in discrimination based on nationality, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability, or any other legally protected characteristic.

IBTL opposes all forms of modern slavery, forced labor, and human trafficking. We conduct our business in accordance with international ethical expectations and applicable laws, including the UK Modern Slavery Act (where relevant to clients), and we seek to avoid involvement in supply chains that tolerate such practices.
